Organisation

The Institute numbers some 100 people, of which 80% are researchers, and has plans to grow to 150. The ICN team is highly skilled, muti-disciplinary and multicultural with almost 50% of staff of non-Spanish origin, representing over 20 countries. The official language of the Institute is English, but many other languages are used routinely within working groups.

By design the Institute has a fairly young staff with most in their mid 20s to mid 30s, and over 30% female. This youthful profile is actively maintained by encouraging young scientists to advance their career by moving on to other prestigious institutes once they complete a doctoral or post-doctoral project at the ICN, thereby continually opening positions for junior scientists to join the Institute.
